ShuntLDO Xray preparation

Setup discussion:

At a distance of 13 cm, a rate of 2.5 Mrad=> at least 8 days to get 500 Mrad for one chip.

Testing only two out of the three regulators on ONE PCB

Focusing on the IV cure (line and load regulation) during irradiation. Then at the end (500Mrad) we will also do the dynamic. The reason why the dynamic will be done at the end is to reduce the probability of breaking the chip. Question to Michael: Is there a specific measurement that you want to add to the list?

Current sharing studies will not be done at irradiation since we can only irradiate one chip.

The steps will be: slow rate at the beginning up to the first 2 Mrad (krad/hour), then increasing the rate to Mrad steps (logarithmic scale).

For the setup we need at least 1 K2410 for powering the chip, 2 K2410 for measurements and one PS for the Vcc.

Florian and Matthias will send info on the pulse generator they need for the dynamic measurements.

Stella will make sure we have at least 1 PS for Vcc, and three K2410 in the working area with cables (3 m long for readout/ power and SMA). For the scope and the pulse generator Stella can rent sth from the pool after Florian and Matthias send model numbers. There will be also a laptop with basil and python keithley meter Bonn script. Florian and Matthias will also bring their laptop that runs basil just in case. Plus some RS232 cables in case we need extra meters.

The question of the bandgap reference performance was raised. Question to Michael: Is there any expected degradation for the bandgap? Should we prefer to give the Vref from the jumpers that are in front of the potentiometers and provide it extrernally?

Temperature discussion

There is a Peltier box that we could use but if we use it then we would lose some cm's in distance from the beam (losing rate). Question to Michael: Is there a way to monitor the temperature on the chip other than the heat sink on the bottom? For the FEI4 that was wirebonded only from one side they placed an aluminum band below the chip directly touching it and they used that for temperature monitoring while with the Shunt that is wirebonded from all sides we cannot do the same. Also from the bottom side there is the heatsink and the pcb? Any recommendations on monitoring the temperature variation more efficiently?

Availability:

Better if we are 2 "on shift".  no physical presence required but have to be in the proximity of the machine in case it needs to be restarted. TeamViewer is the software of the machine (windows) to connect remotely, there is no alarm so someone needs to watch the screen in case an error occurs.

A high voltage cable shall be replaced by the company first days after opening. ( the guy has left already for holidays)

There might be also the possibility of getting a bit closer to the beam but company has to confirm.

Florian and Matthias will stay at CERN hostel, Giacomo at Ferney (preference for the 2nd weeek), Malte will help the first days during setup, Daniele doesn't have constraints, Stella can work on weekend, not easy access during night.
