Dissemination and Exploitation • Made some changes to the questions of ETICS customer satisfaction survey. Will discuss how to proceed now • Presented two session proposals for EGEE 09, one together with OGF Europe and the other together with EGEE Development (JRA1) and Certification (SA3) Activities • Collaborated to the presentation of a workshop proposal (STV workshop - System Testing and Validation) to ICSOC-ServiceWave conference (24th-27th November). The workshop was presented in collaboration with STV Workshop which is a series of events initiated in the year 2002. • Gave a demo to the head of ENG research unit and Managing Director of Engiweb Secuirty S.p.A (Engineering group). At the demo also other members of the R&S lab (heads of research areas and researchers) and representatives of commercial projects were present. Outcome was positive and interesting collaborations might start as a result of the demo. Interest in testing and quality verification. There is a need for the dissemination team to have more information on testing and prepare a demo on the testing features. • Exploring other grant opportunities in areas different from Research Infrastructure (e.g QUalipso and its follow-up) Training • Sent a proposal for a training session on ETICS to the GridKA school organizers (http://www.fzk.de/gks09). They replied immediately. Both full day and half a day session slots are available and we were also offered the possibility to participate to the poster session. Discussing internally what is the best solution. Reviewing DSA2.5.

++ Releases - Almost the same as last week... We wait for Andres to be at CERN for the release. - Testing the release candidates is successful. - Still testing 2.4.3 (now RC4) we had to remove the latest client because some plug-ins need to be modified. - The client 1.4.7 will be release asynchronously. - Release 2.4.4 will follow quite soon with what was left out of 2.4.3 - Release descriptions are available here: https://twiki.cern.ch/twiki/bin/view/ETICS/SA1ReleasesContents ++ Development - Writing a "diff" between configurations or same configuration on different platforms. - Plug-ins integration is progressing but few stil missing to have all the AQCM metrics (next few weeks). - Plugins for Findbugs and JUnit fixed - Started plugin for CKJM, when the new client is out will be easy to add new plugins. - Dashboard: newcomers needs to learn ETICS, GWT, etc still in training/planning phase - Working on multi-node testing but is not progressing fast with all other activities ongloing. - Disseminator now in the internet servers and being reviewed. - Submitters integration progressing on the development environment and we will do some testing soon with SA2. - Working on the Web Applications to support the configuration and launch of multi-node tests. ++ Infrastructure - Adding Debian v5 to the PRODUCTION pool (under tests) - Removed virtualised nodes of SL5 x86_64 from pool. Installed physical node for SL5 x86_64 - Investigating Deb v4 x86_64 problems with builds, could be Condor related. - SL v5.2 will become SL5.3, as the default SL5. - X-Site migration: mail exchange, bug in Condor to be fixed, new Condor release needed - ongoing - New platform names proposed https://twiki.cern.ch/twiki/bin/view/ETICS/PlatformNames

ETICS USIS (User Satisfaction Improvement Strategy) 5m
Improving user satisfaction about usage of the ETICS services is critical. ETICS is often perceived as slow and difficult to use. This is due to a number of factors: 1) Need for technical improvements in speed and usability 2) Disinformation or third-party rumours 3) General resistance to adopt 'procedures' We need to understand what to focus on and have a plan to address this issue as a combination of technical enhancements, training and dissemination. Where to start?
