This workshop is intended to address the needs of a rapidly developing interest group in RD51 for fast timing with micro-pattern gas detectors. Current results from the RD51 PICOSEC project demonstrate feasibility of MPGD-based timing devices in the <50 picosecond regime. Many topics are nevertheless still to be addressed: lifetime of photocathodes/SEM’s, scaling to large area coverage, spark...
