Description
In this session we present the status of our visualization tools, discussing all the issues we face now.
We also would like to present the status of visualization outside HEP: industry standards and tools used in other sciences and fields.

VP1 is a 3D event display for the ATLAS experiment at CERN. It is part of the experiment core software and it is integrated into the experiment's framework. It is written in C++ and it uses the OpenGL-based library Coin3D for the 3D graphics and Qt for the GUI.
