CWP Data Analysis and Interpretation WG meeting

Mark, Torre and I are trying to follow up on the discussions we had in San Diego and get the Data Analysis and Interpretation CWP writing process started. Lets get together and discuss the next steps. If we don't manage next week, I will extend the poll and contact you again.

    * define roadmap and R&D projects 
    * goal is not to develop final implementation plan for analysis for HL-LHC era

        * conclude on charge (synthesize the google docs) and derive outline and working list of R&D projects

    * May 22-24, 2017: HEP Analysis Ecosystem Retreat
        * at the workshop, we want to discuss a skeleton of the paper content and through discussion refine the skeleton and through a formal talk close to the end of the workshop encourage more contributions of interested parties
    * June 26-30, 2017: HEP Software Foundation Workshop
        * complete version of content that answers the charge and defines the CWP analysis contribution
    * work: write CWP paper contribution
        * deadline: Fall 2017

* May 22-24, 2017: HEP Analysis Ecosystem Retreat
    * organized by Liz, Pete, Torre
    * goal
        * short term plans for ROOT
        * medium term strategy for ROOT
            * more people to contribute to root
            * question of direction
        * evolutionary strategy/visions for 2026
            * Alternative solutions to ROOT
            * What will ROOT's role be on HL-LHC timescales?
    * CWP analysis group plan for retreat, asking for
        * discussion session to talk about skeleton and possible additions (community work)

  • Split up document into chapters / logical units and look for people responsible for one of these units?
