more detailed report on trigger matching (Enrico, Roland):
- setup used:
- used native artdaq trigger matching facility
- frame-based fragments
- FELIX BoardReader (and other artdaq programs) running on a different PC than the FELIX host (which is not sufficiently powerful to accommodate all programs)
- generating periodic triggers running in a separate trigger BoardReader
- did not use the timestamp generated by the emulator for now, as there is no synchronisation between the emulator and the trigger BoardReader
- next steps:
- do away with the "cheating" on the timestamp
- move the system to the actual FELIX PC, so as to allow to run the FELIX BoardReader and the rest of the FELIX system on one and the same machine
- work on trigger-matched fragment
- but the schedule is also affected by ongoing WIB activities (these take precedence, due to availability of both h/w and experts)
data overlays class(es):
- immediate concern: Antonino would like code for the frame-based FELIX fragments
- based on Milo's code, but correctness to be verified; code also to be entered in the official gitlab repository (Roland in discussion)
- will move to more advanced overlay as compression implementation progresses
- Eric & Roland: in favour of a scheme in which the data type mostly distinguishes between FELIX and RCE, and fragment metadata information is used to determine further details
google doc (Frank):
- would be good for all to think about structure, and hopefully contribute
- Eric: would this document also useful for the DUNE consortium formation? Frank: not obviously so
discussion with MicroBooNE about use of their data/MC (Frank, Eric):
- discussed our intended use of their data/MC with them last Friday
- idea was to cast this into an MoU, detailing number of events (< 100) and usage details (no physics studies, no results obtained using these data to be made public)
- not completely a done deal at this point (concern by one person about a potential clash of interests, related to work on a SNB trigger)
- Roland: about to finish a report on compression using Quick Assist. This contains some results obtained using these data -- can these results be made public? Eric: best to hold off for now
Next meeting: tentatively on August 23.
