Description

Novel 2d chiral SCFTs can be constructed by considering N=4 SYM on a complex curve where the 4d coupling is allowed to vary over the curve, or, equivalently, from D3-branes wrapping curves in an F-theory compactification. We study these 2d SCFTs from two complementary approaches: for a single D3-brane we can construct the twisted reduction to 2d via the ``topological duality twist''. For N > 1 D3-branes we use holography and construct the general solutions for Type IIB supergravity, including varying axiodilaton, with an AdS3 factor and at least N = (0,2) SUSY in the dual theory. We then utilise these duals to compute the central charges of the 2d SCFTs and compare to the T-dual M-theory solution, as well as a variety of microscopic descriptions via anomaly inflow from branes.
