      Dear International Advisory Committee members,
First of all, thank you for accepting to be members of the International Advisory Committee for LCWS 2017.
The program for the meeting is now available at:
... link to the main page and detailed agenda …

The programme has 4 main elements:
      1) Plenary programmes Monday and Friday. The emphasis is on the scientific and technical issues for ILC/CLIC but there will be a more political session Friday, please see first ideas in the programme at the second link above. There will also be regional overviews Monday morning.
      2) Common WGs in accelerator and detector/physics, plus specific WGs on SCRF and NCRF (link)
      3) Specific meetings for ATF2, ILD, SID, CLIC acc/det/physics and EJADE – and possibly others topics
      4) An industry session Wednesday afternoon.
For points 3 and 4 more information can also be found in the second link above leading you to the detailed programme.

Both ILC and CLIC have key challenges to address during the next year, and the workshop provides an excellent opportunity to discuss and hopefully conclude on some of these challenges.

For ILC the ongoing process in Japan related to hosting the machine and change to a 250 GeV initial configuration are key issues. The timeline and links to the European Strategy update timescale will be important, also for similar processes in other regions.

For CLIC the focus on presenting an implementation plan of a 380 GeV machine for the European Strategy update 2019-20 and providing updated information about the technical status, costs and power by that time.

The different choice of initial energy for ILC (250 GeV) and CLIC (380 GeV) will another issues discussed throughout the workshop, as well as staging scenarios.

Your advice concerning the meeting and key focussing points for the activities 2017-2018 will be very valuable, and we also hope several of you will registered and can come to Strasbourg. The registration page is still open at: link

Please check the links above and provide feedback on any point. In particular on key items you think we should discuss in more detail. We have possibilities to introduce topical discussion or in other ways address specific topics.

Best regards, Marc Winter and Steinar Stapnes
Local Organising and Programme Committee Chairs
