Description

In 2009 the Korean government announced a plan to construct a Heavy Ion Accelerator facility in Korea. A plan to construct a Heavy Ion Accelerator to produce rare isotope beams is underway. The construction of this facility will be one of few mega-projects for basic science research facility in Korea. This facility tentatively referred to as KoRIA (Korea Rare Isotope Accelerator) is planned as a multipurpose research facility for nuclear, atomic, material, and bio-medical sciences. The present status of the planning will be presented.
