NuSTORM xsec measurements  (K.Long)
-------------------------

See slides

Discussion:

- Both nue and numu will be produced at the same time from muon decay, the separation of neutrino flavor event-by-event relies on lepton identification in the detector. Need good/dedicated detector!

- More in general, detector systematic uncertainties are really a major challenge in neutrino xsec measurements already with the present precision of flux. A very good detector is needed to cope with the flux precision at NuSTORM

- Another major challenge is the precise reconstruction of neutrino energy in order to propagate the xsec measurements to different spectrum in DUNE and HK (especially to the oscillated spectrum). Need good/dedicated detector (but Enu smearing due to nuclear effects will be unavoidable)
An approach a la NuPRISM and/or changing the energy of the incoming neutrino flux is being considered.

- It would be useful to minimize the divergence of the initial pion beam to get a very narrow off-axis neutrino beam at the first cycle (almost mono-chromatic).
But this would lower the rate and would require a far enough detector to see a point-like flux. To be investigated...

- Any possibility to go below 1 GeV in the neutrino spectrum? Eg, ~300MeV would be useufl for ESS neutrinos. To be investigated...

Test Beams at CERN   (S.Bordoni)
-------------------

See slides

Discussion:
- Most of the ND R&D efforts needs a low momentum beam, any hopw for a tertiary beam in the Easth area?
- Another approach is to use absorbers (as in the HP-TPC), what is the strategy to get back the precise momentum of the incoming particles, after the absorber?

HyperKamiokande intermediate Cherenkov detector (M.Hartz)
-----------------------------------------------

See slides

Discussion:
- For a 13 degrees precision on delta_CP near maximal CP violation, the energy scale must be controlled at 0.5%. A similar estimation for DUNE (broad band beam) would be ineteresting
