In this seminar I am going to discuss how different aspects of higher-order electroweak corrections impact the description of various important processes of the LHC physics programme. Besides discussing the phenomenology of the NLO fixed-order results I will outline how they can be incorporated in existing NLO QCD parton shower matched and merged calculations which can directly be used in experimental analyses. I will further explore how existing electroweak parton showers can be used to desribe weak boson emissions.
