Maria Regina Middle School is located in the village of Naxxar. It is a co-ed school with a population of around 650 students aged 11 to 13 years. The school community is very multicultural with students hailing from all continents. However the majority of students come from Central and Eastern European countries.
While recognising our multicultural diversity, the school strives to provide a safe and friendly environment which is conducive to quality teaching and learning; highlighting and working on the strengths of all stakeholders to empower our students to become better world citizens.
During their two year stay at this school, students learn core subjects such as Mathematics, English and Maltese but are also exposed to foreign languages such as French, Italian, Spanish and German. As part of their core curriculum, students also learn Science through an integrated approach where they are introduced to the concepts in Life, Material and Physical sciences together with the option of Design and Technology as an additional subject. Moreover students are also engaged in the Performing Arts.
A special programme is also designed for induction students, that is, students who are new to the country and cannot communicate in English. This programme prepares them for eventual integration with mainstream students.
St. Theresa Middle School is situated in Birkirkara and is a co-education institution. It welcomes students between the age of 11 and 13. Throughout the two years that the students spend at the school they have the opportunity to engage in a number of academic subject and extra-curricular activities.
