Presents: George, Rob, Miguel, Giuseppe
RAL:
- Decommission CASTOR disk ongoing, planning to complete that by 2019. Hardware will anyway have to be decommissioned by then.
- Rob officially Service Manager of Echo. Echo is now running Luminous (12.2).
- CASTORATLAS meltdown. More monitoring/instrumentation on the database would help reacting earlier and limiting down time.
CERN:
- Release 2.1.17-26 is out. Recommended 2.1.17 production release. Production instances due to be upgraded tomorrow, and xrootd will be upgraded to 4.8.1.
- High tape activities (read and write) following CNAF unavailability.
- RAID6 bug update: RedHat has backported the patch to 7.4, to be released soon. CentOS 7 to follow about a week after.
- Meltdown/spectre: reboot of the CERN cloud, which meant rebooting the CASTOR head nodes. The diskservers have not been rebooted yet, pending the above RAID6 patch.
- CTA will start to be exposed to experiments.
AOB:
- Next phone conference: Tuesday, Mar 6th, 2018, at 11.30 CERN time. Opportunity for a topical discussion about evolution of tapes and drives.
