Description
Thank you for your enthusiasm shown to the idea of holding a mini-workshop dedicated to thermal issues for accelerator magnets. It is the intention that this first meeting is foremost an information exchange on essential points that will lead us to: – Establish a common understanding where each person's short and long term objectives stand relative to each other and to the objectives of the various funded R&D programs. – Establish an understanding of the modelisation tools being used, their strengths, weaknesses and limitations. – Establish an understanding of the measurement methods and instrumentation being used, their strengths, weaknesses and limitations. This should lead us to discuss: – Possible new areas worth investigating. – Best practices/tools to overcome the modeling limitations found up to now. – The distribution of work with respect to the various funded R&D programs
