3rd WP5 Meeting

Europe/Zurich

Participation: KIT, ANSTO, STFC-Strathclyde, KYMA, PSI, AU-IAT, ALBA, ST-ELETTRA, ENEA

Communications: proposed date for the next meeting - April 18th at 9:30AM Cern time

The following task coordinators are appointed:

  • NC undulators: R. Geometrante (KYMA)
  • SC undulators: A. Bernhard (KIT)
  • Exotic undulators: D. Zhu (ANSTO)
  • Magnetic Measurements: T. Schmidt (PSI)

We discussed whether during every WP5 meeting should feature a unique overview talk per task or multiple presentations. F. Perez suggests to leave this decision to the task coordinator. We all agreed with F. Perez. R. Geometrante emphasizes the coordinator's role in managing the material exchange within each task.

Presentation from Adrian Cross on RF Undulator activities in Strathclyde. M. Calvi asks to comment about the power consumption of such a device. G. Dattoli comments on the issues of the transverse mode distribution and the impact of higher order modes of an eventual source driving an RF Undulator.

No presentation from T. Schmidt. His talk is postponed to the next meeting. M. Calvi listed the main arguments of undulator cost effectiveness.
