Simon Baird12/02/2010, 09:00This talk will introduce the session and outline the boundary conditions that have been set for the following presentations. SPL and PS2 are planned to replace the current LHC pre-injectors (LINAC4, PSB & PS). However, as SPL and PS2 will probably not be on-line and fully operational before early to mid-2020’s, the existing machines will have to run for at least another 12-15 years.
