Description
On the 23rd of October BEgrid organises a hands-on about the use of P-GRADE portal.

The hands-on goes through the main features of P-GRADE portal using the BEgrid infrastructure. Participants will learn how to create and run workflows starting from a simple workflow and evolving into a parameter study workflow. During this process, they will learn how to use the credential portlet, the information system portlet and the file management portal in order to prepare a complex workflow for execution on the BEgrid infrastructure.

      Preparation, One-job workflow

      During this session participants will prepare their P-GRADE portal account for execution, will create a simple, one-job workflow, and will run this workflow on the BEgrid infrastructure.

      Multi-job workflows

      During this session participants will create a workflow that can be used either to solve a linear equation or to simulate traffic. The created workflow consists of a number of jobs all running on the BEgrid infrastructure.

      Parameter Study workflows

      During this session participants will learn the parameter study concept of P-GRADE portal. This involves experimenting with the file management portlet and extended usage of the workflow editor. The example application is the parameter study version of the equation solver workflow.
      Finally, if there is enough time, participants will start to implement the gridified version of their applications using P-GRADE portal.
