Join us for a WIT talk with Eugenia Hatziangeli, Leader of the Controls Group in the Beams department at CERN. The interview will be conducted by Denia Bouhired-Ferrag from the WIT Steering Committee.
As per usual, the talk will be followed by networking lunch in R2.
Short Biography
Eugenia Hatziangeli was awarded a Bachelor’s degree in Electrical/Electronics Engineering and a Master’s Degree in Digital Systems in 1987, from Brunel University in the UK.
She joined CERN in February 1988 as a Software Engineer in the Applications section of the Controls group of the LEP department, which in 1989 became SL (SPS-LEP) department. The Controls group was tasked with building the controls system for the commissioning and operation of the new LEP accelerator.
She became the leader of the Applications section in 2002. In 2008 she became the LHC controls coordinator, for the preparation of the LHC injection tests. Eugenia was appointed leader of the Controls Group of the Beams Department in 2009, a position she currently holds.
