Description

VSim is a simulation software suite for modelling the interaction of electromagnetic fields with particles with or without complex geometries. This workshop aims to cover topics of interest to researchers with no previous experience of VSim. It will include introductory materials to help you understand if VSim is relevant to your research, how it works, and provide workshopping sessions to try to advance your research with these simulation tools.

Introduction to Tech-X and VSim: Build your first simulation in VSim 26-1-022

      26-1-022

      CERN

A hands on session, where you will be able to install VSim (with assistance if required), and we will show you how to run one of our example files of beam transport with kinetic collisions, and/or build a basic ion source depending on demand from attendees.

Convener: Dr Jonathan Smith (Tech-X UK Ltd)

        Getting VSim installed 20m

Hands on session aimed to get everyone ready to run their first example.

Speaker: Jonathan Smith (Tech-X UK Ltd)

Hands on: Run your first VSim simulation 1h 20m

We will start by running an example, either ion beam transport or an ion source depending on the group present. If time allows, we will modify this and start to build our own simulation.

Speaker: Mr Nate Crossette (Tech-X Corporation)
