Description

Brief description: In this presentation we will discuss the motivations and challenges moving from distributed grid computing to cloud and dynamically provisioned computing.  We will cover the history of the current distributed computing model and the work achieved with it.  We will address the limitations found and the push to move to cloud provisioning and plans for the future

Speaker's short bio: Ian Fisk is the deputy co-director for computing at the Simons Center for Data Analysis and member of the CMS collaboration.  Ian served as the computing coordinator of CMS at the beginning of LHC Run1.
