Description
A brief introduction to the REX-ISOLDE machine and its functioning will be given.
Similarities and differences in terms of technology and operation compared with
ISOLDE and other CERN machines will be pointed out.
Thereafter the weak links of the machine, the status of the consolidation
project and the involvement of the support groups will be presented. Finally the
operational organisation of the machine until now will be described.
