Description
This paper and accompanying presentation shall
discuss principles and architecture of the foreseen
Access system for all CERN Experimental Areas and
the current status of implementation.
The objective is to obtain a PLC-based safety system
that can be scalable from the size of the PS to the size
of the SPS experimental areas and that can be
easily reconfigured as the areas change.
The transition phases for the several areas shall be
discussed as well as the assumptions and premises
necessary for the execution of this long sought
homogenisation.
