Description

The observed deviations from the SM in B-meson decays hint to possible new physics at the TeV scale. After a brief overview on the present status of the B-meson anomalies, I will discuss how they can be interpreted coherently in a consistent effective field theory framework. This allows us to speculate on the possible mediators responsible for the anomalies and their signatures in direct searches at the LHC: signals in the dimuon final state and searches for leptoquarks coupled mainly to third generation fermions. Finally, I will provide a few examples of how embedding these mediators in more UV-complete models can provide predictions for other signatures.
