EULAKE technical coordination meeting 22 May 2018

Coordination

• After the first setup and functional tests need to “open” the usability of the lake and focus on three main activities: 
  • eulake and external "standard" storage (Enrico): xrdcp TPC (Third Party Copy), FTS, gridftp, Data deletion
  • File locality (Andrey Zarochentsev): gathered, scattered and hybrid file co-location methods
  • File layouts: striped and full replica layouts: functionality over the WAN/LAN
  • Network performance (Andrey Kirianov): PerfSonar integration

Thanks to AndreyK, AndreyZ and Enrico for volunteering taking leadership on some of the activities. Need one responsible for “File layout”

• NIKHEF
  • Correct router config still missing. Hopefully solved in about 2 weeks time.
• CNAF
  • Storage server ready, idea to start with an EOS container deployment.
  • Enrico to write the instructions for deployment in Twiki. 
  • Antonio to document the setup process. 
  • Investigating possibility to offer also a GPFS “volume”
• RAL
  • RADOS based volume export set on-hold due to time constraints
• SARA
  • Trying to get x509 certificates and start performing file placement tests from remote.
