Description
In 2008, hardware commissioning of the LHC showed larger than expected loss of memory (detraining) for the Firm3 magnets. In this seminar we will make an analysis of the training during surface test at SM18 along the production to point out degradation or improvements of the quench performance. Whereas Firm1 had a rather homogeneous performance, Firm2 and Firm3 had pretty large variations during the 5-years long production. We then summarize the data relative to the quench location for each dipole manufacturer, pointing out some specificity of Firm3 magnets. Finally, we study the correlation between retraining during hardware commissioning and two features of the production: the storage time and the e-modulus of the coils. In both cases there is no evidence of any correlation.
