Description

In this WIT Lecture, Maritza Delgado will give an overview of her interesting career and experience in emergency telecommunications, also sharing some thoughts about gender balance and gender equality in her sector.

Short biography

Maritza is a Programme Officer in the Emergency Telecommunication Division of the ITU Development Sector.

As an Electronic Engineer graduated in Colombia, she has more than fifteen years of experience in the use of Information and Communication Technologies for the development of early warning and monitoring systems, emergency telecommunications, disaster management and disaster risk reduction. Her work has contributed to save many lives around the world.
