Module construction status

  • Racks and load banks of the first ALICE IT modules are being installed (see the picture uploaded to the agenda page).
  • Lubron is coming to Automation this week to start up the RO plant.
  • 1 MW generator is being installed.
  • Work on LHCb power module starting soon.

Drawings

  • STEP files for LHCb remaining LHCb IT modules have been uploaded.
  • Michel has uploaded drawings for the hinges and pictures of the unloading.

RO installation

  • Patrick has sent an updated Life Cycle Cost estimation from Stulz.
  • The RO plant includes a buffer tank which should be able to bridge up to 9h at extreme temperatures, when the required water consumption exceeds the production capacity of the plant. As a backup option, the installation also includes a bypass valve to use softened water instead of RO water.

FATs

  • ALICE FAT has been delayed. ALICE to check the dates proposed by Automation.
  • Johannes explained that he can't discuss the FAT protocol, this has to be discussed with ALICE project management first.
  • Johannes clarified that he can't make any statement about the contract, this has to be discussed with the CERN procurement service.
  • ALICE will try to discuss the requests about the FAT protocol this week, no promise/commitment though.
  • LHCb FAT scheduled for 11/12 September.

Action items

  • Automation to upload/send through structural calculations for LHCb.
  • ALICE/LHCb to review the uploaded LCC/water consumption calculations.
  • Automation to ask Lubron for an estimate of the expected RO water temperature given a raw water temperature range of 10 - 15° C.
  • Automation to take pictures of the possible locations for the fire detection "box".
  • ALICE/LHCb to check with the CERN access control group where to route the cables from the door contacts.
  • ALICE/LHCb to collate questions/comments regarding the documentation of the MODBUS registers.
  • CERN to send four water manifold boxes to Automation (2 ALICE + 2 LHCb) and inform Automation as soon as the shipment date is known.
  • LHCb to send information which racks should have a cut-out in the side panels and their layout.

Next meeting: Tuesday 10 July at 13.30.
