Description

I will present two new techniques in indirect detection of dark matter.  I will first talk about the technique of velocity spectroscopy.  I will show that the measurement of energy shifts induced by relative motion of source and observer can separate signal and background with minimal theoretical uncertainty and can act as a new signature of dark matter.  In the second part of my talk, I will discuss a new method to search for axion-like particles (ALPs) based on the gamma-rays produced concomitant with high-energy astrophysical neutrinos.  I will show that searching for these gamma-rays will probe new parts of the parameter space of axion-like particles.
