Since Spring 2010 the CMS experiment has recorded about 3 pb-1 of proton-proton collision data at a centre-of-mass energy of 7 TeV, and a substantial increase is expected until the end of the year. In this talk first results on Standard Model physics obtained in this new energy domain will be presented, demonstrating the outstanding performance of the CMS detector.
