On the de Sitter swampland criterion

I will give an (incomplete) overview of the recent developments around the de Sitter swampland criterion, proposed in [arXiv:1806.08362] by G. Obied, H. Ooguri, L. Spodyneiko and C. Vafa. I will first recall the swampland context as well as the difficulties of getting controlled de Sitter vacua from string theory, leading to the proposed criterion. I will then present some consequences and subsequent discussions or refinement of this criterion.
