The 5th edition of TEDxCERN will take place on Tuesday 20 November 2018 at Bâtiment de Forces Motrices in Geneva on the theme "An Elephant in the room".
Prior to this biennial event, two panel discussions will be held in the Globe of Science and Innovation at CERN on Monday 19 November. This event will feature key speakers from TEDxCERN who will address topics such as the digital human rights in a data driven world and the ethics behind evolving humans - from DNA manipulation to human cyborgs.
The format of each panel will consist of three short presentations, followed by a panel discussion and questions from the audience.
Artwork by photographer Matthieu Gafsou on the subject of transhumanism will be shown during the cocktail.
La 5ème édition de TEDxCERN se tiendra le mardi 20 novembre au Bâtiment des forces motrices à Genève sur le thème "An Elephant in the room", un concept défini come un problème évident qui est ignoré.
En amont de cet événement biennal, deux tables rondes seront organisées le lundi 19 novembre au Globe de la science et de l’innovation au CERN à Meyrin. Ce sera l’occasion pour certains des intervenants de débattre de sujets tels que les droits de l’homme dans l’ère digitale, les notions d’éthique impliquées dans la manipulation d’ADN ou encore les cyborgs humains.
Les tables rondes débuteront par trois courtes présentations suivies d’une discussion puis d'une session de questions/réponses avec le public.
Une sélection de photos de l'artiste Matthieu Gafsou sur le thème du transhumanisme seront projetées pendant le cocktail.
