Caterina shows her results on speedups in Geant4 simulation jobs for different compiler versions and with static compilation.

Her results are based on a simplified CMS geometry, but she is collecting all ATLAS geometry files to repeat it on an ATLAS configuration.

It is agreed that normally static compilation is not an option for the LHC experiments software, but in the case of simulation it might be worth it, it if saves a lot of CPU cycles.

Servesh will show to Caterina how to strip away a significant fraction of the size of the statically compiled executable (currently 700 MB).

There are minutes attached to this event. Show them.
