    The feasibility to determine metabolism and oxygen consumption of living 3D cell culture systems by NMR in standard 5mm tubes is demonstrated. High cell viability was obtained and the measurements were stable and reproducible over >12 hours. We describe the effect of the flow rate on metabolic activity.     Our aim is to study proteins that are relevant for human diseases at atomic resolution.
