Description
Searches for dijet resonances are a powerful probe of new physics at the LHC and provide strong constraints on simplified models of Dark Matter. However, the scope of these searches is limited by trigger bandwidth constraints. Data scouting/Trigger-level analysis is a technique to bypass conventional trigger rate limitations in exchange for performing analysis on partial event information, which can produce the most sensitive searches for low-mass hadronically decaying resonances. This talk provides an overview of this kind of technique in dijet resonance searches at ATLAS and CMS and discusses possible extensions of the technique for Run-3 and beyond.
