Description

After getting her Master’s Degree from MIT in Aeronautics and Astronautics, “Space Gal” Emily Calandrelli decided to tackle an even more tenacious problem: scientific literacy in communities not generally exposed to scientific thinking.

As an Emmy-nominated TV host hailing from West Virginia, Emily has spent her career as a science advocate and content producer finding ways to bridge the gap between scientists and science-skeptics. In this short talk, Emily will present strategies that she uses to more-effectively talk about science with an unwelcoming audience.
