Summary
The HL-LHC, also called HiLumi project, aims to increase the discovery potential of the LHC through an upgrade which increases the total number of collisions by a factor of 10.

But the upgrade of such a large scale, complex piece of machinery is a challenging procedure that will take a decade to complete. The process hinges on a number of innovative technologies, and institutes in member-states but also non-member states are contributing to this project.
