Description

Walking RG flows appear in QCD-like theories, condensed matter systems and statistical physics models and are often responsible for the generation of a large hierarchy of scales. We propose a unified description of these RG phenomena with the help of fixed points at complex values of coupling constants. These fixed points give rise to a novel type of conformal field theories, that are also complex, which allows to gain some computational control of the strongly coupled RG flows. I will talk about applications to the behavior of gauge theories near the end of a conformal window and to the Potts model in two dimensions.
