Description

The Compact Muon Solenoid (CMS) experiment is one of the four detectors exploiting the proton- The pixel detector is the innermost detector of CMS that is essential in measuring the trajectories of charged particles with high precision. The detector was installed in summer 2008 and commissioned with cosmic data. First data, arriving at the end of 2009, will be used for further commissioning. In this talk I will discuss the performance of the pixel detector and present comparisons between data and Monte Carlo simulations.proton collisions delivered by the Large Hadron Collider (LHC) at CERN.
