The virtual visit with CERN’s CMS experiment will be the first of two video conferences for Neutrino Day, Sanford Lab’s free science festival. We expect around 1,500 people to attend the event. Each video conference typically draws 80-100 people. Neutrino Day also features science activities for kids, hoistroom tours of the Yates Hoistroom at SURF, a hands-on science show for kids, an art aspect, experiment displays and talks. This year, the event will conclude with a live performance of “The Legend of the Northern Lights,” a film by José Francisco Salgado performed with the Black Hills Chamber Orchestra. The virtual visit with CERN’s CMS experiment will be the first of two video conferences for Neutrino Day, Sanford Lab’s free science festival.
