Topic of the Week: Expanding Long Lived Particle Searches at CMS

LHC searches predominantly follow the prompt-decay paradigm, leaving a potential gap in coverage for new long-lived particles. I will present the current status of long-lived particles searches with a focus on CMS experimental results. I will follow a detector-based approach and discuss the current efforts and possible gaps in coverage. I will also discuss new ideas for expanding acceptance and improving triggering.
