Darkmachines sampling meeting

Europe/Zurich

Physics functuon down the track: Roberto has offered an interpolation of the MSSM7 likelihood, interpolated by a deep neural net. Roberto and Bob will liase to interface this within the package (Sydney can also collaborate), also could try the EWMSSM likelihood.

Pyscannerbit: Bob to work on wrapper to test functions tomorrow. Martin and Zach to work on generalised interface to GAMBIT scanners (e.g. pass in dictionary of arguments to Procedure).

Bob has implemented a metric for the optimisation scanner (best point found). He needs one for the posterior. Judita previously volunteered to do this and will send something around by next week. Csaba has found a few convergence criteria which he has previously sent to Judita. Should schedule a meeting in a months time and start with a presentation on this.

Bob framework: Will add a submodule that contains procedures defined in their own files, plus examples of running one or more procedures. Bob will make the submodule and make it clear how things need to be implemented.

PyBAMBI: Will has started text and is writing the pyBAMBI procedure. Can get things done within a month.

Sequential neural likelihoods: Barry is looking into this, can get things done within a month.

Metric Gaussian Variational Inference: Jakob to interface this within a month.

Calibrated approximate likelihood ratios: Drop, or Barry to do if he gets time.

MCMC: Csaba to write draft, code to come from Martin and Zach via pyscannerbit.

HMC: Christoph? Martin to chase.

Particle swarm optimisation: Pat to do this within the next month.

Bayesian optimisation: Zach and Martin to do within the next month (based on gpyopt). Joaquin to look at codes for high dimensional problems: he suggests this is a better option: https://github.com/automl/SMAC3 . Roberto to assist Joaquin with interface to Bob's framework.

CMA evolution: Martin to chase Gulli.

AVO: Martin to chase Joeri.

AMPGO: Roberto has already implemented this. Roberto and Bob to liase and commit to repo.
