Biweekly meeting: C++ Modules in ROOT

Europe/Zurich
Oksana Shadura (University of Nebraska Lincoln (US)), Vasil Georgiev Vasilev (Institute for Advanced Physical Studies (BG))

Attendance: Guilherme, Oksana, Vassil

Guilherme: nothing to report.

Oksana: Busy with CHEP. Modules and clad got a fairly good response by the audience. Otherwise, I have sent Vassil several things that he needs to look into. I will dedicate small amount of time to cmssw in the upcoming weeks due to other activities I need to do.

Vassil: Recovering from the travel last weeks. We do not see anything significant as a showstopper for the release. We have a few reports that PyROOT triggers deserializations on TU->decls_begin which did not for the PCH, however, this seems by design as the modules need to reconstruct the view of the TU from N modules. Long term solution is to move away from the interfaces which iterate. Next things on my plate is profiling UNIX and making OSX work.

AOB: Next meeting is in two weeks.
