Minutes of the U.S. CMS Tier-3 Weekly Operations Meeting on Tuesday, November 19, 2019
Apologies for the incorrect meeting time in Indico. Will be fixed for the next meeting.
Attending: Carl, James, Doug, Dave. Absent: Kenyi
Agenda Topics:
- T3_US_Baylor, T3_US_Rice, and T3_US_UMD have their xrootd service wide open and have received a "please correct quickly” email - status? NTR ...
- Doug will check the three sites.
- Nebraska has sorted out internal access: Took away world-readability for /store, and put group ownership to cmsusers.
- SAM test by the end of the year.
- Roundtable and open ticket (last update [1] Nov 5th).
- Doug:
- Working to get Princeton's PhEDEx up and running again. Testing GridFTP endpoint up and running and in to the central PhEDEx system at Fermilab. We can request DBPARAMs for them.
- Carl:
- Requested DBPARAM's for Minnesota also to go into the Fermilab service. Endpoints not tested for write privileges yet. Filesystem structure not set up yet.
- TAMU [1]. Tier-1 folks worked with Carl a bit. Looking like a network issue at TAMU. Ticket stalled again. Fermilab FTS and PhEDEx transfers do not work. Transfers by hand work. CERN FTS transfers time out. Questions:
- Do they have an IGTF InCommon certificate? Probably, yes.
- Should we bring Rucio in for Tier-3 sites rather than trying to set up PhEDEx? What is even the procedure for commissioning a site in Rucio? Ask Erik Vaandering or Nick Smith (transfer team) ... ACTION ITEM: Dave can ask them at Fermilab. One hang up might be that users may not have a way to request data to be copied to a site.
- Kenyi: Away.
- AOB:
- Carl will run the Friday meeting this week since Doug will be traveling.
- No meeting next week.
