EDM4HEP Notes
==================

Present: Andre, Gerri, Valentin, Frank, Martin, Clement

Introduction and General Points
-------------------------------

Progress update from Valentin (see slides):

- idea to move forward with an alpha version
- use a fairly complete EDM
- start out from pLCIO
- modify as needed

- links from Sim/CaloHits to raw hits
    - should probably both be 1-many

- question: Is there something special needed to discriminate pileup/background and signal?

    - this can be done following all the links in the objects, starting from the ReconstructedParticle all the way to the MCParticle
    - should add some helper/utility methods to navigate the relation/association collections

- visualization with diagram:
    - use UML notation

- DDSim: produces Sim{Tracker|Calorimeter}Hit Types

- Infrastructure:
- use /cvmfs/sw.hsf.org install area

- Documentation:
    - start out with Readme.md
    - add additional topic.md
    - doxygen: check that podio generates right comments

## To Do Items

- VV: setup documentation publishing via travis and Github pages (a la LHCb)

- VV: develop a PODIO data service in Gaudi

- FG: add DD4hep plugin that writes EDM4hep
    - discussion on dependencies
    - for now assume optional dependency in DD4hep

- check why travis is not running

Next meeting:

- idea to have a weekly slot for the meeting
- then have alternating topics Key4hep and EDM4hep
    - potential slot: Tuesday 11:00 Europe time
    - propose this on both mailing lists
