Minutes 19-06-2019

Attendance:
NCBJ: Agnieszka

WP0 Funding:
Merlin: We are waiting for news from ESA, they promised a response a few weeks ago but have been silent since then, has sent a reminder
Agnieszka: Unofficial news is that ESA people have all the documents (both from Geneva and Poland) and are discussing, potentially there is also some good news but very unofficial for now

WP0 CSU:
Merlin: no news for now but not surprising given situation in China, originally they were going to have a POLAR-2 meeting there last week
Jianchao: IHEP started working again today after the Spring festival holiday was extended by 1 week, not sure about CSU but one week delay can be expected at least
Merlin: Will wait until the end of the week to see if there is news from CSU, otherwise will send them a reminder

WP1:
Merlin: Moving forward quickly, just received the quote for the second type of scintillator, will likely order a batch of both kinds to test
- This week we will do some tests at CERN with a new kind of reflective foil, if successful we can order the scintillators
- Apart from reflective foil tests and design of the CFRP socket the module design is close to finished
- Jerome will develop firmware for FPGA to test with source

WP2:
- Jerome has gotten quotes for new PCB (less noise than original design), some delay due to China situation, but should be able to order this week and we will get them within ~2 weeks
- Nicolas dA has started to take successful data with SiPM + BabyMIND board, will start building a module now

WP3:
- TDR delivered by Dominik
- Next step is a discussion with WP2 and WP8 people on the design

WP4:
- Dominik is working on the TDR

WP5:
- Delayed because of lack of CSU info, in the mean time working fully on WP1 to be able to dedicate more time on WP5 when we have the info from CSU

WP6+7:
- no news

WP8:
- Waiting for info from CSU as well, but by the end of this week we can order some material if we don't hear anything to at least get things moving

WP9:
- Jochen will order CeBr3 scintillators in the coming 2 weeks
- In Geneva we are quite sure these can be coupled to SiPMs to be readout with BabyMIND, we have a spare BabyMIND to start testing when scintillators arrive

- Jianchao will start drafting outline of the GeCAM design interface to POLAR-2, we cannot do anything on mechanics now as we have no news from CSU, but electronics can start

AOB:
- Merlin will check for beam test opportunities for end of the year, idea is to test at least 1 polarimeter module + ideally one spectrometer + rough BEE design
- Jochen shows plot for spectrometer requirements to do localization of 170817A
- Merlin will fix Vidyo issues....
