- A general discussion took place on the way to ensure that a circuit that has tripped is not repowered without the MP3 authorisation. The procedure applied is that this is left to the judgement of the EIC. Bernard proposed to have a check list that has to be defined. This idea was well received and should be pursued to be implemented in the future.
- Answering a question of Edward, Reiner confirmed that the list of thresholds is coming.
- It was decided that, as it was done on Monday 22 March, there should be a “systematic” MP3 presentation at MONDAY 8:30 Meeting covering “relevant” MP3 cases observed on the previous week. Only relevant cases to be reported!
We could use the template of the presentation of 2 days ago and the presentation could be prepared by the persons in shift during the weekend (hoping it quiet!). The presentation will be done by default by the person on shift on the Monday morning, but of course could be another person if wished/agreed.
- Jean-Philippe shows the plan for NIGHT and DAY-on-call for the next 2 weeks considered critical for mediatic events, test on ramps etc.
The idea is to not have the person in afternoon shift also risk to pass the night in the CCC.
The number of persons concerned by this “possible” extra shift is limited.
- Reiner explain as it is working the “QPS-piquet” that is in fact a “TE-MPE piquet”: one person on call during working hours and another during night-hours. They are continuously trained in order to be effective to (possibly) solve the last type of events detected in the LHC operation.
- Reiner is generally available as night-on-call (by phone) for the most serious cases.
- Reiner propose to continue with the MP3 Team training on QPS aspects: a session will take place TOMORROW Thursday 25 Match at 16 at the CCC Glass-box. A repetition of this session will be done just after Easter for the persons that cannot attend tomorrow.
AOB:
- Mike underline how it should be planned a monitoring action on the weak splice resistance detected during the last weeks/months. First a synthesis presentation covering both interconnection and magnet splices has to be done at MP3.
- Bernard ask if something most be done on the analysis of the FPA test dine in the rush after decision to reduce the ramp rate to 2 A/s for a while.
- Bernard ask about what MP3 activities will become on medium/long term depending by the responsibilities given also to the EIC. After discussion it seems that we could define a clear action list that should clarify responsibilities and actors in the CCC.
