Advanced Technology at the University of Twente is a broad BSc program, preparing students for various MSc programs. Students can decide to enroll in applied physics, applied mathematics, mechanical -, biomedical -, electrical - or chemical engineering or even business related studies.
The annual CERN study-tour is organized for AT BSc students who follow courses on thermodynamics and electromagnetism and the study tour at CERN contributes to the examination material. They will specifically look into the wonderful world of superconductivity technology, in particular magnet design. 48 visitors are expected, including students from many different countries. The program is truly international due to the international character of the Advanced Technology program at the University of Twente.
The program covers 4 days in Geneva of which 3 at CERN. The group arrives on Monday with their own transport in Geneva and the CERN program starts on Tuesday morning. Besides standard CERN Visits Service itineraries, additional laboratory visits, lectures and a workshops are planned. At the end of the third day, the students present their work in small teams and get graded for their effort and results.
