Description

Innovation in electronics is intimately related to innovation in instrumentation for High Energy Physics experiments. The HEP community can profit enormously from looking around at what others are doing in many other application fields where (micro)electronics is also the driving force. A humble pilgrimage to the ISSCC conference is such a source for learning and inspiration for old and young engineers alike.

In this presentation I would like to share some of the surprised “ahaaa” and other ecstatic and admiring comments that I enjoyed by going to this conference.

Note for the perplexed: ISSCC is to an electronics engineer what ICHEP is to a physicist, and for them the “Annals of Physics” is called the “Red Journal”.
