Dual Readout Meeting

→ Europe/Zurich

In this meeting we mainly discussed the progresses on the gluing station.

1. Valery presented the progress done on one of the concepts proposed by RBI. The new design has been updated with 6 stages to allow for fine adjustment during the assembly. The design looks well advanced and approximately 50% of the required stages have been already produced in the internal workshop. This gives the feeling that in few weeks they should be able to make some tests. In this respect, we encourage the team to finalize the gluing station and to start with the tests straight away. This will be a good opportunity to get precious informations on the procedure. During the meeting it was suggested to start with a reduced number of tubes or with shorter tubes (scarifying some spare) to realize glued towers to be juxtaposed in order to have some informations on the expected quality.

2. During the meeting we also had a short summary on the other concept. Aneliya is finalizing the drawings and she will share them next week. Unfortunately the Croatian company which has the expertise the produce the components required to build the gluing station cannot produce them because of their overcommitment. We would suggest to finalize the drawing in such a way that we can discuss them for final suggestions with the colleagues in Pavia and Pisa. Once the full picture will be clear, the Pavia group could help in identifying a new company. In this respect it would be very important to have a cost and a time estimate of the production.
