Mechanics and Integration

Europe/Zurich

1.    Drawings:
a.    Offset of 10 mm to modify straight part in arcs to help the winding
b.    Supports: how to support the demonstrator in the cryostat?  discussion with Franco
c.    Layer jump geometry  discussion with Enrico
d.    Removable pole, how do we deal with layer jump? We can shape a G10 support for the jump, impregnate it in such a way it is removable from the pole  discussion with Juan

2.    Mechanics:
a.    Better not to pin the spacers, avoiding stress concentration and more in compression
b.    Bonded simulations present the best scenario
c.    No pole is a better scenario
d.    Luca propose to select a scenario and then work in a detailed way on this  more specific information and properties are required for the cable and the resin to perform representative and precise simulations
e.    Share stress CDT ~4 MPa that can be translate to ~8 MPa (Glyn)
f.    Jumps configuration seem very similar in terms of stresses, pressions and deformation. V2 is shorter and probably the best solution
g.    Electrical and mechanical tests on the impregnated stacks can be done separately, to separate the problems and the challenges
h.    It is important to reduce the tension in the outer spacer: pre-stress? Bladders? How do we insert the outer ring, should we split in two parts?
